E. N. Kemp & Associates, Inc. was formed in 1982 to provide financial and investment consulting services. For the past twenty-five years, the firm’s president has assisted numerous clients with various financial plans and problems, developing considerable expertise in certain specialized areas of professional practice.

BUSINESS VALUATION

For several years, E. N. Kemp & Associates provided business valuations on an exclusive basis for clients of two of Honolulu’s respected CPA firms. Those exclusive arrangements were terminated in 1995. Business valuations and valuation consulting services are now offered directly to clients of all CPA firms, to clients of numerous law firms and bank trust departments, and directly to business owners and others needing those services. During the last few years, nearly three hundred business valuations have been completed. Valuation reports were prepared for estate and gift transfers, purchases and sales of business interests, employee stock ownership plans, divorce, and various other purposes. The size of business interests valued has ranged from minority interests in small partnerships to controlling interests in large corporations with subsidiary companies.

VALUATION CONSULTING

E. N. Kemp & Associates offers a wide range of valuation consulting services. For example, valuation consulting services have been provided during the formation, expansion, sale and dissolution of corporations and other business entities. The president of E. N. Kemp & Associates is one of only a few CPA’s in Hawaii to hold the significant designation for CPA’s specializing in business valuation and valuation consulting services, ABV (Accredited in Business Valuation). The president also holds the designation of CBA (Certified Business Appraiser) from the Institute of Business Appraisers.

BUSINESS CONSULTING

Business consulting and litigation support are important elements in the overall scope of services offered by E. N. Kemp & Associates. The president was recently requested by the court to exercise financial control over three corporations during divorce litigation. Other examples of consulting and support services include: depositions and the preparation of testimony as expert witness in two large leasehold conversion cases; consulting services to attorney and client involved in litigation concerning buy out of minority shareholder interest; consulting services on behalf of parent in the establishment of amount of child support payments; and consulting services to attorney and client involved in litigation concerning medical malpractice.
